Gopal Mehan is a talented freelance artist. He was an artist in residency in Triveni Kala Sangam in 2011 and had his own studio there. He likes to work from his studio because it gives him the freedom, creative independence and satisfaction one needs for an artistic process. His paintings are largely people as subjects that have soothing hues of a darker colour palette. He has won several awards for his art and showcased his works at many reputable art galleries
