About Artist and work style:
Sreya Gupta is an Indian Contemporary Artist, Professional Jewellery Designer and Gemologist.  She expresses her work though art be it painting or jewellery. Her work tells a different story engaging the audience to know more. Most of her works are inspired from Nature and Indian Culture. She believes in versatility in art and likes to explore different mediums and styles.  Her works are visual treat of colours, textures and decorative designs enhancing the subject. Some of her favourite subject includes detailed nature study of Landscapes and Indian Elephant Compositions.
Artist Statement:
“I believe art enables us to have a different approach towards life.  It is a way of expression. The subject matter of my work is vast because of observations of things around me. Whatever be the subject of painting, the two integral elements in my work are- texture (actual and simulated) and design. My current work on Gaja series represents the importance of elephants in Indian mythology, culture and Religious traditions.  Elephants have been the source of power, wisdom and grace.  My compositions are inspired from the beautiful engravings, bas reliefs, ancient mythological stories and temple carvings on elephants in India. .”
